More funding for kinders? High five!
The planned upgrade of Friendship Square Child Care & Kindergarten Cooperative is set to get even bigger.
The Victorian Labor Government is providing a further $200,000 to make important improvements to the building at Friendship Square as part of the Building Blocks initiative.
This funding is in addition to the $176,751 announced last year to upgrade the outdoor play areas.
The latest grant will improve accessibility at the centre by widening doorways, create better connections from the classrooms to other parts of the building and upgrade the kitchen so that children can participate in cooking sessions.
Friendship Square has such an interesting history. It was opened in the early 1980s by the Australian Council of Trade Unions (ACTU) to help get mums back to work – and it is still going strong today!
